How to adjust air/fuel nt carb? Huasheng 142f

I had read somewhere on here during too many hours of research before my recent build, about the plate on the nt carb that you can drill thru and find the adjustment screw. If anyone can shed some light on this, it would be great. I tried to drill the left gold plate, closest to the front of bike, but went in fairly far to no avail. How far do you have to drill to get to the screw? Any help with this will be greatly appreciated. Want to do the valve adjustment and carb tune next.

No hidden screws on the NT carburetor. I think you're talking about some versions of the infamous CNS carb. They are said to have a hidden or soldered mixture adjustment to help comply with emission standards. The NT carburetor has no such adjustment, hidden or otherwise. They do have an idle speed adjustment screw but it only controls throttle position to set the speed of the idle. Fuel flow below 3/4 throttle is determined by the 'C' clip position on the needle and main jet orifice size.

The 50 cc Huasheng uses this butterfly carb which is Not an NT 2 stroke carb

This pic shows the uncovered air mixture screw on the far left.
Keep drilling that brass cover plate.
Use a bit a hair smaller than the diameter of the plate.

A word of advice would be to only post 4 stroke questions in the 4 Stroke Forum.

Thanks. I was drilling it and stopped. I am hoping for a gap between plate and screw. I will try to find the 4 stroke section for my posts.
