How can I edit my photos?

I would like to upload some photos with arrows pointing to certain parts plus text. I can add a straight line but I'd like an arrowhead on the end. I can do one freehand but I prefer the look of the nice ones I've seen on other peoples photos. Can anyone help?

Do you have Microsoft Picture It? That works great for it. Another one (a little more complex) is Gimpshop.

Hi jasonh, I've tried Windows Paint & Gimp2. Hi to hiker472 how do I get Microsoft Picture it? Or could you explain how to with Gimp?

Well unfortunately Gimp doesn't have a shapes tool like Photoshop does. (at least not 2.4 that I have)

It won't look perfect, but what you can do is use the paths tool to draw an arrow, and then hit enter to complete the shape and turn it into a selection. Then you can use your bucket fill to fill it in. if you make a new layer first, you can easily move it around.
