Yes, changed many top ends.I'm thinking about changing out the piston & rings, wristpin, needle bearing. The motor has approx.1400 mi. I've pulled the top end off my other bike before so I'm not concerned about the labor its laying out the money. Anyone else been through through this?.
Absolutely easy. Comes down to four bolts tear it off and replace what is needed. Basically can be a 5 minute job if you know what you are doing. 10 if you are just learning after you get the parts MBR said above.
sumtimes just re-ring(replace the rings) is all is nessesary...
even cheaper....but while you are in there just replace the piston to be safe.....cheap insurance if you ask me.
