Hey ho! Harveyseal's Formula 55 LP Gas sealant for fuel tank

So on screwing in the fuel valve under the tank when assembling my kit, I discovered the all-important red washer was not anywhere to be found. What was worse, every time you screw it on without the washer (tried 11 times) the valve always ends up on the inside, which is a huge hassle to reach while sitting on the bike.

I finally ended up using a very thin brass washer and using pipe dope on both sides and on the threads. I used Harveyseal's Formula 55 Gas Sealant. I'm well aware they meant natural gas not fuel lines, but it also says it seals liquids up to 6000 PSI.
It does not say if that includes gasoline, but I would assume so. I am after all an innocent lamb here on my first kit.
Anyone care to call a foul? Let me know or I'll hit the road and hope, you know.

OK for what its worth, I called Harvey (Oatley) and they said you CAN use this sealant for fuel lines also.
So its apparently a rare instance where "gas" also applies to natural gas & fuel.
But of course I don't have the original red washer.
We'll see!

Ace hardware has the fiber washer if you want one. But the real solution is to tap it to 1/8 pipe and put a ball valve from Granger in it.
