Gas Tank Cap Stuck

I have the standard Chinese kit and my gas tank cap is stuck. I don't want to damage it to get it off. Hoping someone could suggest a way to get it off.

Harbor Freight has a rubber strap wrench set for $4.99. It should twist off your cap without damaging anything.

Turn it upside down, then use a little penetrating oil/WD40/PB Blaster and let it sit overnight.

strap wrench is a good idea it should do the job and not hurt anything also great for stuck jars mmmm pickles

Push down really hard and turn.....counterclockwise of course

A combonation of WD40 and a jar opener grip (with a lot of force) managed to undo it.

Glad you got it open. Once I was trying to fix my leaky cap, so I superglued a new gasket on it only to find that gasoline dissolves superglue. It ended up gluing the cap shut. Strap wrench got it off easy. =) Also useful for oil-filters if you don't have a filter wrench.
