gas proof paint?

is there such a thing as gas proof paint in a spray can? i know automotive paints can be. just wondering if i can get away with a 5 dollar spray can of clear coat instead of a 20 can with a big mess left over. i can pore my gas more carefully but my carbs all have leaked at one time or another. please let me know. thanks

some auto supply places can do an auto paint in a rattle can
I think retmachinist had luck in this thread as well

I painted my tank with a cheap $1.00 can of paint, and I spill gas on it ALL the time. when I wipe the gass of it get nice and shiny again! But the paint has not worn off at all, and there has been considerable gas spilled on it.
