Hi everybody , dont know much about bikes but been riding one for a few months, this one thing buging me : when i forget to turn the gas feed off seems like the engine overflows and i cant get it started -help.....bf.

Don't forget to shut off the fuel. I'm not being a SA, just saying.

It would help if we knew what engine and carburetor you have. We might be able to offer some suggestions.

Experience teaches you that no matter what kind of motor bike you ride, if it has a petcock you need to turn it off when you're not riding.

when you forget to turn off the gas, most carbs will overflow because the bike leans too much on the kickstand - the overflow will go right down into the bottom of the motor (and these don't have a drain plug on them)

usually, you can get it started with enough effort and it will run poorly until all the gas is pumped up into your muffler (do that a lot & the muffler can become clogged)

if you can't get it started, you may have to take out the spark plug, turn the bike upside down, and turn the motor till gas stops coming out

if the engine's full of fuel, you can usually get it started by leaving the petcock closed until it fires.
