Center pull brake pads

I know, I know I need disk.My new bike is a converted fixie bike
with center pull brakes & that is what I,m stuck with for now.Been
reading the stock pads will most likely wear out very fast.

So what replacement pad would you guys recommend when
that time comes.Steel rims.

Also, if your rims are painted, remove the paint where the pads rub --- you'll really increase the life of your pads and stop much better!
