BCA Bicyle Corporation of America bike....

I found a BCA Merica Rover 1020 uni-lite 10 speed bike for 22 bucks....It seams to be heavyduty,but was wondering if anyone has heard of a BCA bike or know anything about them....I want to put a friction drive on my next build in the next couple of weeks and was thinking this would be a good bike for it....I need your oppinons....

I was a dealer for BCA back in the 1980's. At the time their bikes were decent. Definitely better than the department store bikes at the time. They were assembled in the Allentown, Pa area using imported parts. I can't remember having any major problems with any of the models I sold. Probably is a better choice to motorize that then today's Wallyworld wonders. Good luck.
