Anyone tried a Nexus 7 or 8 speed hub with SBP shifter kit?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has tried the Shimano Nexus 7 or 8 speed internally geared hub with the SBP shifter kit? I tried the 3 speed internally geared hub and it jerked badly when I shifted gears. So badly in fact I broke several chains with it. I thought maybe there woulcn't be as much "slack" between the gears with the 7 oor 8 speed.

please let me know as well,i was considering buying one for my build and i dont want to loose that much money for burning one out my self.thx:-||
