I found this bike but don't know what type it is or how to search the Internet to find out that information.

hiawatha, made by cleveland welding, late 40's, early 50's.

It's totally cool, whatever it is. I'd be tempted to leave the "patina" intact and just motorize it.

Thanks for letting me know it is a Hiawatha Western Flyer. I am planning to make a board tracker out of it.

Heck, I thought that you were looking at the frame. Do you have any links I could look at which would show what this bike looked like brand new?
