All Terrain / Fat Tire

I'd like to start a thread on All Terrain bikes (4" or better tires). We've just got our Mongoose Beast "Moto-Goosey" running but it's still has a bit more development in the works before we can hit the road. Just put a muffler with SuperTrapp disks on. Seems to work but it's a little loud. Gettin' the Beast to stop was our first priority, so we adapted the front fork and hub to accept a Shimano Hydraulic caliper using a master cylinder from an ATV.

Powering was a real challenge since we wanted the engine to mount in urethane bushings for vibration damping. Lots of failed attempts, however it seems to be successful now. The jack-shaft design should lend itself to the 7 speed Dolomite as soon as we get the Beast finished.

Here's a couple of shots, hope you like what you see. We're thrilled with it's looks.

Welcome.

It certainly does look cool. I've given a bit of idle thought to motorizing a fat bike. But I wondered of chain clearance, around the tire especially, would be a problem.

How did that turn out for you?

Here's some shots as she stands today. Couldn't offset the engine enough to get around tire. Had to build Jackshaft to offset the drive chain.
