1917 Merkel Motorwheel?? Anybody seen one O these?

Its a kind of odd looking thing. Thought I'd post it here for discussion purposes despite the fact that it is "for sale" and by rights should be in shop N swap. Never seen one like it

Gees you find the coolest stuff, those Merkels go back to 1909 as well similar to the Smith motor wheel.
