gas tanks

I have been searching around for a while and i cant seem to find a concrete answer. I have a 1/2 gallon tank and I always worry that i will run out of fuel, and i have seen people make gas tanks out of pvc that are mounted under the seat. so the question is is there a way to hook both of those...
