Bill I too have a trailer and had thought that maybe when I get my MB built I might hook it up and take the little kids to the park but one thing that concerned me was that since the little ones sit so low in the trailer they might be right in the line of fire in terms of the engine's exhaust. Have you had any issues or concerns in that respect?

I have well over 7000 miles of pulling them and trailer with the 2 stroke...
I bent that pipe straight down to disipate any fumes (just like the smiley, hiker472 made)
they never once, in all that time, complained about smelling anything
(being 2 little girls, if they had, they would've let me know !!!)rotfl

now that I am cleaner, smoother, 4cycle powered, I have no worries in that regard at all
they get more fumes from passing traffic, than they could ever get from me :)

That is a real nice bike and looks to be comfortable for the long haul. I can't wait to get one of those EZM kits installed and towing a trailer.

very nice build Azz, I can see some of the difference's on this build vs a 2 stroker. is it alot more quiet than a 2 stroke engine is ? My biggest concern is the noise those things make and I will never go electric due to there range and power.

you pulling the kids around with a MB , does it attract the local law's attention ? Personally I think it is a very fun and creative way to spend some time with the kids , but I just wonder if someone might consider it unsafe blah blah blah ya know.

Life is unsafe, we all die. I did without a car for years and we towed our kids and got them on their own bikes as soon as possible.

the 4 cycle is much quieter (I can even hear my cell phone ring !!! )

I take my oldest granddaughter to school 5 days/wk and the parents I meet all have good/positive things to say about 'grampa's taxi'

after pulling them around town for 3+ yrs, we are well known, and the 'cagers' seem to treat us like we belong on the road with them

I will say that, when pulling the trailer, Bill goes into the 'ultimate safety-granny driver' mode

I have even befriended a member of town council who uses a scooter to get around, due to a stroke, and he thinks it's 'the coolest thing' to take the girls around the way I do :)

Looks like a lot of fun, nice job. I would be interested in where you found the seatpost.

Enjoy your rides and especially the grandkids.

another question Bill, judging by the size of that battery, does your bike have electric start also ?

was this engine a build kit ? or did you just get the engine and use the parts from your old 2 stroke to make this work ? I like your motor mount platform also.

Im really feeling the need for a 4 stroke mainly due to noise more than anything else

updated pics

here are some new pics, I have done a few new things, mostly aesthetic, but some important as well

1st pic ... rotor mounted chrome 50tooth
2nd pic ... right rear shot, showing cut out of sprocket and new armadillo croossroads tire
3rd & 4th pic ... my seatpost was made for bmx and, while strong, was too high for me...cut and bent then re-welded the support and now I can sit and still be flat footed (I am 6'1" !!!)
5th pic ... bent and painted crank (I tried using little 5" cranks, but it was very hard to pedal the trailer)

will add more pics to another post
