Hi everyone, I'm new to the motorized bike world, but i recently bought a Red Genesis Super 32inch Cruiser and i want to put a bike motor on it, but I don't want to spend more than $250 total.
The link is for a picture I found that is the same bike, just white

http://www.bigboxbikes.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=1206

Heres my dilemma; I Don't know if there are any engine kits for this type of frame, or if its just a matter of buying an extra chain for this monster or what additional parts i might neeed to mount the engine
Here is an Engine i found, but Can it posibly mount such an engine??

Please help me! Thank you
Oh yea, and the bike is a coaster rim in the back, if that helps

Can't exactly answer your questions, I wish I could, but I should le ty ou know since you're in California, that pistonbikes wont ship that engine to you. There are a few places that ship to california, I've listed some that I'm pretty sure ship to Ca.
You might want to read up on them though.

Ive seen that bike in person. I'm thinking either friction drive or electric. I dont think anyting internal combustion will fit inside that frame, no mater how big the wheels are. Pitty really. Its a big ol bike with a wonkie frame. Best bet is to go to Wally world and take some acurate measurements and check back here.

Sounds like he already bought one Velo. The frame might be bigger than it looks with those 32's. The bottom geometry looks normal. So as long as you have around 12" of clearance to the top tube, you might be okay. Should look into a slant head just in case.

That frame would look so much better with the top curve facing up...

If it fits its gonna be tight. I HOPE it does cuz I happen to think its a really neat bike and my God those wheels are big! OOPS ! Your right Killer. Just reread the first post. Well. That will make getting the measurements eaiser!

I hate to be a party pooper but I really don`t think you can put a china girl in the belly of this bike! I measured and measured and there is just not enough room without cutting into the top rail of the frame! You could go with a front or rear wheel setup or even the rear axle setup that mounts on the left side of the frame down by the rear wheel.

Not too much for me. Do you think there is room to chang out the hub and slap a derailer on it? What walmart are you shopping at?

You'd have to widen the dropouts and rig up a derailleur hanger to do that. Then you'd have to figure out the cable stops and routing to make it work. You might need to change the crank sprocket, as externally geared setups use a different chain. Then you need to put brakes on that frame because you'd lose the coaster. Generic calipers aren't any better, and that's about the only choice you have unless you can weld brake bosses or disc mounts on there.

Honestly you'd be better off rebuilding the rear wheel with an internally geared hub. But good luck with that, the Super 32 uses 48-spoke wheels! You might be able to make it work with clever drilling on 32-spoke IGHs.

That bike looks as if it will fight motorvation on every front.

Lol a guy who knows how to take criticism excellent. Well I am trying to get to 80 as you can see I am having issues with this guy on my thread. He is comparing apples and oranges. Maybe you could weigh in. Search for "strke" it will be the first one up. Listen to this guy.
