omg, yes, that is the freak nasty ugly pornstar bike that turns you on in ways that most people are ashamed of but so what, it's just sooooooo right and soooooo good. awesome. it's freaky frankenstein mad genius/scientist. you are great!

To me, your build is what this site is all about. I like to use what I have laying around my garage before going to the hardware store for material.
My wife is scared of me getting a welder (fire hazard). I had never thought of using sheet steel or aluminum layered over wood for structural members.
There are things i would do differently from you, but you have definitely influenced me.

I guess the main possible downside to wood, would being impaled in an accident. A bamboo bike frame would be the worst case:
Or those times when yer motor quits & ya have ta peddle til yer pants catch on fire just to get back home... that could be dangerous, too. Whole bike could go up in a flash.
