if i understand you right, no, the chain would still rub on the bottom bracket and chain-stay that was my original plan. but that's what i get for building the bike before i had the motor,

What if there was an idler at the bottom front side of the bottom braket (I am thinking the BB is where the crank is)

after lineing up the chain on the sprokets,idler and motor,,use the chain breaker to get the slack out of the chain and then a mild "spring" tentioner 1/2 way back too the axle on the bottom chain for any play that is left

we got the motor in and running this is my first mb and i am impresed with the power the 48cc engine has, i didnt open it up but what a blast! i had to redo the chainstays and bottom bracket so i could get more room for the cains and the 1 pece cranks clear the egine much better, so now all thats left is to clean up the wiring , mount the tank ,paint , and put the whells and tires on i also need to find a artist to paint emblem on the tank
