Cylinder head installation

Hey guys,

I have a GT5, I tried using the high compression head on another bike. After I reinstalled, it seems like there isn't a proper seal because there's a bit of a gap between the lip and the gasket. I tried to upload a pic but it's being glitchy.

For a proper seal does it need to be perfectly flush?

i use the black rtv and just skip the gasket when using a billet head. it's either that or you have to take the lip off the cylinder jug, the part tht smashes the gasket. make it level and then use a gasket with the head or just a tiny bit of black rtv with the gasket, or just the black rtv as a gasket. if only using the gasket maker, make it thin, tighten down the head, not to snug, let dry. then torque the head and re check the tightness after the first 3 or 4 rides like normal.
