Hello from Rising Sun Md.
Question, the motorcyclists have that low hand wave when passing each other. What do we do? I am a Schwinn collector of sort. Just built the DelMar and am working on a Point Beach for the wife. Would it be wrong to do a Suburban from the 80's? Just worried about those 27x1 3/8" tires.

I have never seen another motorized bike in these here parts....I get the wave from M/C's though.
I motorized a "skinny tire" bike once upon a time and it rode great!

I got two 38 year old Schwinn Suburbans in great condition. I don't think I would have to worry about fender failure.

Hi! You're right down the road from me. I'm up north of you in Quarryville. I know of one guy on the Motocycle Yahoo Group who motorized a Schwinn Suburban a few years ago, and it seemed as though he was posting about a new flat every week. Maybe it was his choice of tubes, as a thornproof tube would definitely help. Or maybe he didn't have a rim strip. All I can remember is that he was always griping about flats.

Waitaminnit! You aren't the guy who was almost the winning bidder on a Schwinn Sprint I sold on eBay, are you? If so, small world, isn't it? We ought to get together and ride sometime!

No, actually a neighbor who was moving gave it to me. He didn't want to take it along with him. He said he realized it wasn't the type I collect, and to sell it if I wanted to. I held onto it for a couple years and decided to sell it. I wasn't going to ride it, I prefer to ride balloon-tire and motorized bikes.

Re: Hello from Rising Sun Md.
The reason for the low wave is so your hand will be close to the handlebars, just in case you encounter a object in the road. The high wave is for sissy boys.I know i have been riding for 55 years and never made the high wave yet.HARLEYS DAD
