I recently installed a EZ belt drive shaft. I noticed some metal shavings in the area. I have checked the front pulley and the key. It all looked okay. clearance is fine on shaft nothing visible. Any ideas? Could this be coming from the engine itself and going into the drive shaft? EZ seems to work fine. I also noticed some black soot from the belt, and I haven't driven but about 2 miles. I'm new to this so any suggestions would be helpful.

Can ya post pics, and does it seem excessive? Could just be wearing in. New parts just learning to play nice together.

I do not have an ez drive but am sure some one can tell you if it is normal break in stuff.

All my belt drives make some dust.

I think the belt "dust" is normal as the belt makes friends with the pulley. If there are actual metal shavings then you should be able to play detective and see where it is coming from as there will be a new worn spot with metal gone. Yes, pictures always help.
