I actually started this project back in Sept. but it took me about a month of weekends. So here it is, based on a 1980s SCHWINN Tiwan remake. I do a little welding at home, so I made my own front motor mount. Also had to modify the left pedal crank arm ( oxy/acetylene style) to clear the recoil start. After 150 miles or so, I got into my first repair job as a clutch shaft bearing failed. the repairs weren't too complicated with Norm and Wheelbender 6 coaching. I was amazed that our local Carquest auto parts had the bearings in stock. Our riding season is over up here, but over the winter, I'd like to add front brakes and some other stuff

That's a fine looking ride... congrats!

I think thats the best kind of springer you can have!! The spring action is super smooth & it doesn't wobble like the cheap springers do!

Be careful, those taiwan schwinns from those years can crack.

Also, A front drum brake looks & works perfect on those!! ;)

Great build man - I'm impressed at the really nice job you did with the motor mount and the pedal arm bend :D
