This is my second bike I built, one of the pics shows a 25 year old green bike thats my every day rider had it 4 years now and still runs like a top, I decided to build bike 2, I took a brand new motorcycle tank took out 6 inches, had to remove/replace the main backbone of the bike with a thicker ga. and bent to fit contour of the gas tank also at the back wheel I placed gussets for a little added strength. All cables run through the handlebars and backbone bar, first time out runs great.I wanted a clean smooth look to this build.I'm selling this bike to build bike 3, more of racey type the pic shows the tank that i built to for another stretched out rider.

Would welding a piece of iron along the bottom fix that problem?

Terry

What I've done to fix the problem, is to weld a small gusset plate between the the two.
Here's a pic of one of my customized Felt ElGuapo frames... If you look close you can see it.
