caliper brakes on a coaster???

has anyone used a caliper style brake on a coaster rim?will it work? or is not happening?my crapbrook rim,god love its huge spokes.decided to not brake anymore i took it apart inspected it and was nothing broke,put it back together and still dame way nothing,can i run this rim gutted,without the coaster pads,because it dont work for some odd reason.and put some pinch brakes on the rim?thatll give me SOME brakes on the rear?

If you can find the caliper brakes with the correct reach so they will be able to lineup on the rim there should be no problem. You may be able to find a V brake adapter also. Your coaster brake shoes may have softened from excessive heat. This is common enough with coaster brakes. New shows may take care of the problem.
