I have a marcagi puma that i am motorizing, currently trying to mount sprocket on rear wheel
i know i can buy a new hub for umpteen million dollars and spend days trying to solve my problem.
cant i redrill the holes further out on the same sprocket and end up with the same result ?
any tricks would be appreciated

The Manic sprocket @ Pirate is for the 68 spoke wheels. The question if it will work on your 72 (are you sure its 72 and not 68?), is if there is a small hole on the left side of the hub that will need to be drilled out to accept the supplied hardware. You'll also have to drill another hole in the mirror location to complete the installation.

I've installed stock sprockets on 72 spoke wheels; just pry the spokes apart a bit to get the bolts through.
As CC said above, "make sure it's a 72 spoke hub & NOT 68."

Hey Guy`s

Thanks For Jumping In. That Clears Things Up. I Bought A Nice Chrome Stretch Cruiser With Ape Hangers A Yr Ago For $50., 60 Miles From Me.
Took A Few Hrs With Sos Pads To Remove Most Of The Rust.

Was Not Aware Of 68 & 72 Spoke Rim`s. I Think 144 Spoke Rim`s Exist!!??
Now I Have To Count Spokes!! Lol.

Thought There Is Two Holes In The Hub=to Be Enlarged And Two More Drilled ! ?.

Ron

PS Looking at the pic`s, I don`t know if i can count that high !!

I did complete my sprocket i just drilled out the factory sprocket with holes
in a larger diameter actually worked perfect.
I was concerned that the extra holes would look hoaky however after some calculus, trigenometry, and some good old sifferin you know like jethro on the beverly hillbillies,
it actually looks like its supposed to BE THAT WAY .
Besides i am **** bent on keeping my marcagi with as many original parts as possible.
I was told that it was to difficult to use that rear wheel but
HARDHEAD + MARCAGI PUMA = I AM STILL A HARDHEAD

The only thing I can say is if you;re staying stock as possible, make sure you're either using the inner tube /spoke protectors or wrapping that rim wall with a couple rounds of aluminum duct tape.. I've had multiple blowouts now due to those spokes..havent had an issue since double wrapping with that aluminum tape..
