I got forwarded the email below and thought I'd pass it along just for grins. The spelling part comes at the end. Vrey itnetersing. :D
---------------------------

Can you find the C below?

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOCOOOOOOOOOOO
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

2- If you already found the C, now find the 6 below.

99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999
99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999
99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999
69999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999
99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999
99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999

3 - Now find the N below. It's a little more difficult.

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMNMM
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

4- Fnially, eonvrye that can raed this rsaie your hnad.

I cdnuolt blveiee that I cluod aulaclty uesdnatnrd what I was rdanieg. The phaonmneal pweor of the hmuan mnid, aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it dseno't mtaetr in what oerdr the ltteres in a word are, the olny iproamtnt tihng is that the frsit and last ltteer be in the rghit pclae. The rset can be a taotl mses and you can still raed it whotuit a pboerlm. This is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the word as a wlohe. Azanmig huh? Yaeh and I awlyas tghuhot slpeling was ipmorantt!

I blame my use of the wrong word in a sentence on my brain tumor not my stupidity my wife blames it on the stupidity.

Actually finding the N isn't that hard since an "EM" and an "EN" are the measurements used for all letters in printing. All letters take the same space of either an N or an M.

Yes you can still read it, but not with the same efficiency as if it were properly written.

For myself, I write my messages with one intent ; make them as clear and as easy to understand as I possibly can. Text communication is completely devoid of emotion and/or body language. Without these visual cues, it is VERY easy to mis-understand someones message.

But, bad spelling is not always what makes messages difficult to read. The bigger problem is the complete omission of all capitalization and punctuation. That's when messages go from simply being annoying to now having to decipher someones proprietary dialect. I shouldn't have to bust out the enigma machine to read someones post on a public internet forum. :D

This might sound obvious, but spelling is only important to the people that care about it. What do I mean? Usually the people that do this don't care about how difficult it is to read, probably because they just want to race through whatever it is they are trying to say. It's seems very, very rushed to me. And in saying that, I can also conclude that they really don't care that people will regard them as lazy and/or stupid.

But, that's just MY opinion. :)

While I'll typo and make spelling mistakes all the time I find it a touch embarrassing - much like going out in public with my shirt on backwards, fly unzipped and two different socks on o_O It is after all a little hard to take someone seriously when they look like a shortbus candidate :p

What I can't figure is... why not right click that poor, butchered word with the red line under it? For those that worry about such inconsequential things like coherency, here's a sweet little stand alone spellcheck that will work in any format;

tinySpell: a tiny portable free spell checker

A warning though - turn off the "beep" or it'll drive you insane heh... unless you're an english teacher... then you don't need it so what the heck ;)

Thanks, I was wondering how to make the spell check work.

Now, why does it always say the word "tensioner" is spelled wrong.
