been doing work on this guy's bike for maybe a year and never noticed his bucking bar is 1/4 inch longer than usual since he usually adjusts his clutch himself
this time, he blew the right crank seal so I had to remove the clutch & small gear
put the tool on the clutch & saw the rod sticking out a bit far, but attention was on seeing the seal on the other shaft wondering why it blew
just before the clutch came off, the drive cover on the other side split down the middle because the tool pushed the clutch rod which pushed the bucking bar out the other side
replaced the cover and tried a standard length bar and all works fine - NO IDEA why there was that long bar in there, but it looks like a factory bar and worked fine for over a year
just another thing to look out for on these POS motors
