I want to do a build with a greyhound engine. I have a bike but need an engine so I was gonna get a cheap one from harbor/freight. Would their 2.5 hp be big enough or should I get their 6.5 hp? There's lots of hills where I live. thanks for any input

Whatever you decide on- make sure you are legal.
I have the 2.5 and love it, weighs 24# or so.
I suspect it makes something over 3 hp without the gov.
That 6.5 is heavy though. Depends on what you want. If you want 30 mph up long hills- bigger is better. It Will be hard to fit a 6.5 with pedals and it Will be real noticeable.

i would really like to put that grayhound 2.5 on a friction drive with a lift clutch, but it is pretty heavy for that. I don't think i could lift that much weight with a brake lever. It would be a neat engine for a really simple build though.
