I don't recall the bar/stem size I have but I found one to fit the stem I had which is a standard 1 1/8" mountain bike stem.

wow wanna do the same thing i've bough a GT LTS frame I think next year my project will be the same as you 
I am impressed with this setup! It makes me want to lean more towards a shift kit now, would that be logical for my engine? I'm sure I could shim the clutch springs in my ATC70 clone so it grabs at low idle like yours.

Wild Bill did you ever get your MTB with the jack shaft done YET . It's 2-28-2015 I would like to know how it worked out for you.

Doesn't that engine have a built in transmission, Im pretty sure they do and you should just use that.
I haven't been here in a while but yes it was finished a very long time ago. Im about to post an update.
I haven't been here in a while but heres an update. The bike has been raced several times now and has been pretty reliable. It did have a chain stretch problem on the secondary drive chain (The one from jackshaft to pedal arms) but I have found a much heavier 410 chain that doesn't stretch made by wippermann.
I also added a downhill mountain bike front chain guide since that chain had jumped of a couple times cause the jump stop that comes in the SBP kit doesn't work that well. I had a front derailleur in place of the jump stop but even that let the chain jump off a couple times. No more chain problems since those mods and the bike is great!!!
