The roadster is driveable since a few weeks, although just the left drivetrain is installed.
Here are some impressions from our latest ride across an old airfield.
Because I'm posting from my phone, I have difficulties inserting pic URLs.

A work of art. Will a motor be installed at some point?

Fantastically beautiful build. Keep in mind that I spent a large part of my life restoring antique furniture but in my mind the natural wood and the maroon colour of the fenders is a perfect match. The build is indeed a work of art.

It is an inspiration for those of us who wish to build a velo car like you did.

Thank you.

Steve.

Thanks all, for your words.
I'm curently planning the E-assist.
Bought a 36V/20Ah LiFePo4 a few weeks ago and tested it on a friends bike, in this case a rather heavy pedal quad with a 350watt mid drive motor.
It was real fun to pedal uphill and feel the airstream around my ears
Once i was used to the assistance, switching the motor off feeled like driving with brakes.
I pedalled 10km with around 250metres/775ft of elevation for testing.
Judging on the voltage, the battery was still 75-80% full after the test.
Now I'm searching the best solution to include an e-motor into the left drivetrain of the Roadster.

Cheers, Kai

Love that design, it reminds me of my old 59 Austin Healy Sprite.

If by chance you look for a lighter body, you might check out the foam travel trailer builds in this link. http://tnttt.com/viewforum.php?f=55&...4f263cab17ad4e
