Hi everyone!

Have been breaking in my backup engine on my first build and it died suddenly. Checked the ignition first and it was fine. Checked gas supply and it was good. Swapped out my backup speed carb with my primary speed carb. Engine runs again. Took the backup carb apart and everything looked ok. Decided to take the cutoff valve on the carb apart. Found a tiny peace of plastic blocking the gas flow, about the size of a straight pin head. Amazing how such a tiny thing can gum up the works lol.

That's the probelm with the so-called 'speed' carburetor. That valve can be a source of problems. The venerable old NT doesn't have that valve and delivers the same performance. Don't let the word 'speed' fool you. It's basically the same carburetor but the older, simpler one works just fine.
Thanks for the heads up though. Maybe other 'speed' owners will benefit.
