Hello! For my first build, im looking at using a Stihl FS 280k weedwacker engine on a cheapo(ish) walmart huffy canbrook cruiser.

Im wondering what kind of results I can expect from this set up. Its a 39cc engine, and I want to rig it up for a chain/sprocket drive....which i guess also means I need to know what kind of gear ratio to use too, right?

Any info i can get?

hey there!
this might be better suited to the DIY forum here: http://motorbicycling.com/forumdisplay.php?f=36
welcome to the forum, using a weedwacker motor is tricky when it comes to chain and sprockets, you need a clutch to use chain drive. small clutches are hard to come by and tricky to install on a motor it wasnt ment for. try looking into a friction drive. with a bmx peg on the engine to rub on the tire. its a whole lot easier to make work with a whacker engine.

GL hope this helps guid you in the right direction.cs.
