I got a small leak in my tank near the mounting bolt. I put some marine jb weld on it at 830pm. Will this seal the tank?

Not for long. JB Weld is not fuel proof. You would be better off washing out all traces of gas from it and having it welded or braised.
I've been able to seal cracks at the base of the studs by completely cleaning the area of the crack with a wire wheel in a drill motor & then sealing it with quality silver electrical solder & a small soldering iron.
JB will work for awhile, if you have it welded put some dry ice in the tank and weld away, the CO2 will suppress any explosion If you don't want to weld it use Marine Tex, it will seal it just make sure you do what they tell you to do,,,mainly get it clean with scuff marks for the puddy to grab onto.

A gas resistant sealer like epoxy will work best if you rough the area up to give it a good surface to grip and clean it with something to leave it SPOTLESS. A fresh wire brush on a drill or grinder is a good way to prep the area. Be sure whatever you use is made for modern gas.

There is a product called SealAl, available at auto parts stores, which is made for the purpose of repairing gas tank leaks. It's a good product but it, like any other epoxy, putty or glue is going to be temporary at best. Welding, soldering or brazing will be the only way to permanently seal the leak.
