Did you change the rules? I have a DOT helmet but it has no face shield, is that required now?
You are confusing a face shield with helmet types.

Is your DOT helmet FULL FACE as in having a chin bar?
Could be a Motocross full face or a full face helmet that the chin bar and shield flips up.

Yes, the safety gear rules were changed.
Open face or half helmets have not been allowed since the April 12th race.

Are planning on racing on May 31st?
Jim Granger will let you use one of his go kart rental full face helmets if you leave your ID as a security so you return it.

As for the face sheild, some kind of eye protection is also required but could be googles, sun glasses or clear glasses.

Well, I have the entry cash fee, the knee pads and the elbow pads, gloves, sunglasses and a DOT half helmet with no shield similar to this one--> http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lunatic-Sho..._Merchandise&var=&hash=item58a53d1dc0&vxp=mtr

I was thinking about going but I have never been to one of your races before. I thought it would be fun to bring my motorhome and camp (1 or 2 nights, whatever is allowed, is there a camping fee?) and I would drive the track with the lofty goal of simply finishing and not getting last place, haha. However, if I have to buy a new helmet just for the race I probably won't go. It's nice of you to offer a loaner, I have a fat head, I would need a large or Xlarge. :)

There is no camping fees beside the $10 gate fee that's good for Friday through Sunday.

Jim Granger the owner of Grange Motor Circuit has rental 9 hp Honda go karts
so he has a large selection of full face helmets that you can use at no charge.
A large or an XL is no problem.

Sorry, but I can't guarantee that you won't get a last place but I will
guarantee that you will have a really fun time on and off the track. :)

There is a car drifting event on Friday that ends at 5pm and another car
drifting event on Sunday.

Come on out and meet the cast of characters that build and race the state
of the art in motorized bicycles.

Hey, it sounds great, I would like to check out all the awesome bikes. If that is the case with the helmets then I would like to go, I certainly have a CA drivers license, of course I will return the helmet, hopefully in the same condition I got it :) What is the deal with the numbers? Do you provide a race number to hook on my bike or do I have to make my own? I don't care what number I get. I will probably come Friday night and leave Sunday morning. I assume there are no RV hookups (electric or sewer) of any kind, correct?? Also, is it ok to run my generator? Also, I am happy to pay the gate fee, entry fee as well as the $5 membership fee.

I will probably get last place but I must have something to shoot for, haha. I have an 80s mountain bike with a pretty much stock 66/80cc china girl kit except: (1) I have a SBP expansion pipe, (2) a rear sprocket adapter with a 36tooth drive sprocket, (3) a high quality BMX chain (no shifter kit) (4)a boost bottle. I'm not sure what class that puts me in. I also have a small fire extinguisher in the RV, do I have to carry that on my bike?

We provide some classy pie plates and a magic marker. :)
Please bring some zip tires or wire to tie the plate on with.

There are no RV hookups or electricity at Grange.
Everything is run on generators on race day.

You can camp in your pit area or away from everyone in the back of the dirt area.

The bathrooms are very nice like a restaurant.
All tiled and clean with running water from a tank but no electric.

No stinky porta potties at Grange! :D

As a new racer you would be in the Amateur China girl class which
will probably be renamed to the Beginner China girl class

Fire extinguisher is not that important and would stay in the pits.

I highly recommend that you change your rear sprocket to a 40 tooth
at the minimum and maybe a 44 tooth.
Your bike will be a dog at Grange with a 36 tooth.

Hey Norm,

No pressure, but you gotta show up man! I think the post race beers and hang out were my favorite part last time.

Like I said, no pressure, do what you can do.

I will still be there with fire extinguisher and a can of fix-a-flat, although I don't anticipate getting a flat.......tire that is. Any word on GoPeds showing up, I'm bringing my scoot and my son might end up racing it?

Please let me know.......

It was a good race.

The Mario karts were fun to watch, and with the half course runs did not cause any problems with the schedule. If anything they gave the beginner class a few extra minutes to suit up for the second heat.

Attendance was light. Lots of faces I have seen there before were not there. I know the warmer weather keeps a few people away, but the pits were only half full.

Lots of nice bikes, and friendly people. I really want to see this continue, and hope attendance picks up for the October race.

I know there will be plenty of pics & videos to come, it looked like there were plenty of Go Pros out there.

It was just nice to take a day off & spend it in the sun with good people. Thanks

Brad
