Sure. Three electric hub motors would work. You could even come up with a way to use differential power to steer it.

Definitely a candidate for a rack mount engine over the rear wheel. You will need to steer with the rear as well.
If you get gas motor you have to tune the pipe to a roar type exhaust sound for optimal performance.
