Tipsy, when I was much younger I ventured out on a long motorcycle trip.
I replaced my normal bars with what was known as 6 bend pullbacks.
They amounted to 'tiller bars'.
Excellent for long straight-aways, and NOT acceptable in town, but this was somewhat remedied by loosening them and tilting them up a bit.

Nice to see someone so optimistic about daily mileage over the long run!
Your builder is indeed first rate, and bonus on consideration of the 4 cycle engine, butcha should maybe see what others have been able to achieve on those loong miles. It becomes grueling, even with pleasant scenery and under great conditions. ...and my experience comes from riding a heavy-weight american mc with plenty of hp and a proven engine.

I'm sure you'll have an adventure worth telling about for many years to come!

Thanks RC, I am prepared to take the grueling with the adventure. My plan is to go on a few test trips, one up to Tennessee and one down to lower Florida. Then I want to head all the way to San Francisco. The most important thing is for me to work out the mechanical problems before I even attempt to head out half way across the country. First long trip will be of course a trip to New Orleans for Mardi Gras next year! Beads and Boardtracker!!! Maybe I'll sneak into some parades.
