Thought you might have found something in your crawlspace that was unexpected . I have found acorns , a pool of toidy water , spideys , and radiant heat shields .

I have a similar hole that leads to a large crawlspace . I too had "toidy water" in there last year . While I was prepping for the plumber I found this large coffin sized box all alone in the far corner of the crawlspace . I dragged it out and thankfully it was empty . My place was the town's general store for 100 years before I bought it . The box was from a shoe manufacturer from around the turn of the last century . A search of the name brought up a quote from the owner that stated that there was a shortage of race horses caused by the war (WW1) . I would imagine that he made plenty of money selling boots to the military .
