We need a little more information to help you. The magneto consists of two parts; the coil and the rotor or rotating magnet. Which part are you replacing and how was the original one "busted"? If you're talking about the coil, the part with the wires, it simply attaches to the motor case by way of four screws. One screw will have a wire, the black one, under the head. When the new one is installed you'll need to 'space' it properly so there is no interference between the coil and the rotating magnet. A standard business card can be inserted between the coil and magnet before tightening the screws. You don't want these two parts to touch when the crankshaft rotates.
If you're replacing the magnet then here is where you need to be careful. It is held on to the end of the crankshaft by a nut and washer. There is a woodruf key also that indexes the magnet to the crankshaft. These magnets can sometimes be difficult to remove and if too much force is used you can damage, bend, the crank because it is only about 5/16" in diameter at the point where the magnet rests. I've had good luck with a puller designed for faucet handles to remove the magnet. You also need to be aware that there is a shaft seal behind the magnet that must not be damaged during the work.
