You want it to stay running, so you might as well crank it in quite a bit, say 4 or 5 turns.
After it's warmed up you can reset it. If it's a CG you'll need a high idle for the first tank of gas anyway.
Hold the throttle open as you run it in, then let the slide down on it. Once it's in you don't need to do that anymore.
