I would like to mount a Max Torque clutch with the cog/gear towards the engine(79cc HF) to aid in lining everything up.

Can I mount it this way I have seen it done in some pictures and people asked "why do you have your clutch backwards?"

Since I am building my 1st bike I dont know to be honest and I did a search on backwards/reversed clutch and got some hits but not an answer.

Also if i can mount it this way is there a way to shield the weights and springs and the rest of the clutch internals from dirt and grime

Max Torque clutches work in either direction.

says it right on their website. :)

When specifying a centrifugal clutch be sure it offers the following:

Clockwise or Counterclockwise - The Max-Torque clutch will operate with equal efficiency in either a clockwise or counterclockwise rotation. The clutch can be mounted inboard or outboard with no adjustments needed.

LOL Thanks MBR... I laugh because I read, but obviously didn't comprehend the Max torque site just moments before posting this on the forum.
