Greetings,
Here's my first motorized bike I just put together. Its a 120$ kent bayside with a dax titan rear chain drive. Its super reliable so far (though I just got it) and fun to ride. But after riding 30 minutes or so, the chain always needs retightening. Its got a quick release lever and a "stopper bolt" to keep it from moving. But it stills need tightening a lot. Does anyone know if I can get or make without welding a tensioner for this style of bike?

Thanks

Hmmm, some sort of light spring tensioner on the front chain?

Even good quality chains tend to wear in a lot initially (first couple times out) and then settle in to hold well thereafter.

Better quality chain tends to wear less.
I love Tsubaki for motorbike and industrial chain. On my bike Giant has worked well.
Look at using a good quality bicycle chain lube on it daily after use.
Wipe it clean with a rag and WD40, then a light dribble of chain lube between the rollers and side plates.

Lubes with Teflon do work quite well.

Hi,
Thanks for the tips! The 4 stroke titan is actually quite quiet. Less noise and vibration than the 2 strokes. I don't have a speedometer but it seems like it goes around 35 mph.
