Been working on a new motor for quite a while now, Compression was very low, and ran really wimpy. Went to thinner gaskets, no luck. Saw the transfer ports were a bit low and tried thicker base gasket to raise them, no luck. Tried diff barrel & piston & rings, no luck. All this time checking & rechecking seals and case bolts. Tried diff heads, no luck. Tried a third barrel, another piston and third set of rings (all measuring within a thou of all the others) and today it ran well.

No idea what was wrong, or why it runs now. Measurements were done with a mic and snap gauges to within 0.1 thou.

A week of bending, lifting measuring, fitting, taking apart and on and on.

getting a bit tired of these things :(

we were using the H2 motors - went through maybe 6 or 8 hundred of them and this was first clinker - got it just before they became unavailable in cali though so maybe pieced out of the last of the parts - barrel, piston, & rings were all H2 also when it finally straightened out
