I've been trying for the past 2 hours to get my bike going, I'm totaly stuck without it. It's 6 months old and was running great before it stopped running.
I have tried:
Replacing spark plug
replacing cdi coil
cleaning out carb (fuel was already flowing into it in the first place)
taking off head (nothing seen, no deep scratches)
All I get are like 4 put-put-puts from the engine like it is going to start, so it sounds like I have spark, but no go.
The bike was running perfectly when parked.
I'm no stranger to these engines either.
Any ideas?
Thanks,

Any water in the coil side of the engine?
Look to see if there is or was water in the case. The coil WILL fail if it gets wet.
Spark, air, fuel. Start with the basics to troubleshoot.

Is the engine full of fuel? That will make it real hard to start & it will run badly until it all gets blown out.

if it hurt anything, it will be the coil - easy to test with a cheap multimeter

A wet coil may still work intermittently, but it is no longer reliable. Replace it.
A new one is only about $10-15 bucks.
Seal that case up before you ride again!
