I got a solo/bobber motorcycle seat for my b-day last month :)

I spent a while trying to figure out how to mount it to my bike
(they normally mount with a swivel at the front and the rear springs get bolted to a perch at the rear)

while on one of my long stress relief rides the idea came to me !!!

I removed the t-bracket from the solo seat, and the seat and springs from my stock springer seat,

and bolted the new seat to the frame
the original front hairpin spring from the bike seat bolted to the front bolt of the solo seat, and some large 1 5/8 od fender washers were used to bolt the springs to the bike seat frame

it seems to work really well, and the hairpin spring seems to help with the 'action' of the rear springs !!!

I think it looks pretty cool as well ;)

That seat you got for your birthday, looks just like the one I put on a 1970 Triumph, was pretty comfy at 90 mph. Nice work Bill as always.

Looking good Bill. BTW i have put 640 miles on the wheel I got from you. Works great and easy to change sprockets.

Hi Bill,

That is one super nice seat and it looks like it belongs on your super cruiser! A first class addition.

Just can't resist mentioning you have one of the sharpest bikes on this site.

What is the longest ride with the new seat?

Have fun,

thanks Quenton :)
it seems pretty comfy, the longest ride on it so far is approx 40 miles

I am a pretty skinny guy (145lbs, 6'1"), and was having problems with 'the cheeks' getting tingly on the original seat (boney butt with no meat to spread the weight)...
this seems to have solved that dilemma (^)

BTW...I should hit 5500 miles on the odo today ;)
