Ran the Fredhead downtown today for a nice long ride. I LOVE the change in the way this stock motor feels. It's quieter and clearly much happier and runs significantly cooler as well.
Here's a couple shots of the river where I stopped for a buttbreak.

Looks really nice... I'm sure your engine is liking it too.
Other than looking really cool, do those billet clutch covers help deaden the gear noise? I love the Fred head on mine too, nice and cool all the time...

The billet cover does reduce the noise slightly, but it changes it more than reducing it. Hard to describe. Sounds less tinny and slightly more gearish if that makes any sense...
Keep in mind I had a metal skull bolted to my last cover which changed the sound so switching directly from a stocker would make more of a change.

I can see what you mean by that... same noise level but changed the tone of the noise... I got a few ideas that might quiet the gears a lot more but I'll test it out and post results in a new post.

Those covers really look good tho...
