Great news! Hey how I read ca. VC 406b, you have to have a m1 0r m2, is that correct? I've read here that the written is good for year,just no night riding. Thx

406 (a) is gas bikes up to 4 hp that require an M1 or M2
406 (b) is ebikes that don't need a drivers license.

Don't waste your time getting a M2, might as well get the M1
because it costs the same, same test and you can ride all 2 wheelers.

Yes, you are correct that a M1 temp is good for a year with the
restriction of no night riding.

Can someone esplain to me how Phantom bikes can claim 49cc you dont need what is clearly stated in vc406..it doesnt even mention 49cc......talked with Phantom bikes..nevermind..erase this post

FYI - CVC 406 changed again beginning the first of the year. Don't worry it's still 4hp 30mph, the only change was 406(b) pertaining to eBikes was dropped. Regulations for eBikes are now CVC 312.5. No more confusion over the need for a drivers license to operate a gas bike.
