im ready to mount my motor on my occ chopper
and looking at it and it looks like
im going to have to offset the motor to make the
sproket line up
iv already mounted the sproket on the wheel
i bolted it directly to the flange on the hub
used 7 bolts trued it up seems to be ok

i was wondering if anyone has any sujestions
for offseting the motor or better ideas ???
im thinking u bolt with custom plate (longer)
to offset motor
i didnt reliaze this would have to be so offset

There are a couple different ways you can go. I made both, Jackshaft on a couple and offset mount on a couple. Offset mount is probably easier. If you don't have the tools to make one, a guy by the name of Barry sells them on e-bay.

If you make your own the offset is 1 inch off the centerline. I made my 1st one with a 7/8" offset and it was very close to the rear tire, the extra 1/8" was perfect.

I understand John (retmachinist) can build anything
and i have a ton of respect for him and his work

but im not spending 60 for a motor mount before i at
least try to do it on my own

as a matter of fact i did make my own today
the front at least

i will take some pics and show
you guys prob monday
motor offset 1 inch as per
john

i think im going to have to turn my sproket over
i installed it with the teeth closer to the tire and can
see it needs to be the other way around

i used muffler clamp and sheet metal and will make
the rear mount monday and take pics and show you
guys

Me and John had some plans that someone had on a website that showed all the demisions and angles to build your own mount.I can't seem to find it. Maybe John has it? I'll keep looking.I understand not wanting to purchase one.Time you buy a kit, mount, custom exhaust, extra chain, smaller sprocket,ect.... These little choppers can be expensive.Heck, I also bought a brand new $200 xyz.com chopper. I'd be afraid of what I got in my bike! Custom seat, ape hangers. Now its set up for me and my little girl And it has another seat, foot pegs, bar extensions, etra leather grips. Also, a boatload of time! Thats what makes me smile when we cruise around and people's jaw drops. Yee-Haw!
