I have an engine I got used, and the id sticker and metal plate with engine specs and clutch arm are gone. Is there any way I can identify it? Are there any external or internal marks distinguishing a GT5, GT5A, or GT2? The engine is not very old, but eventually I will want to replace piston and or rings modify the engine.

Post a pic.
There are only 2 kinds of 47 mm pistons but the rings are the same for both.

GT 2 is 48cc GT 5 are 66 cc

Awsome responce. Well now I know its a 66cc. Should I remove the piston and post a pic? I know that you can also measure the piston to find out specifically what piston you need. I just don't know where to measure. I know the pistons has different parts like escort and 4. But I don't know the anatomy of a piston where to measure. I'm glad you gave that advice because I also have a nother barb working little engine I picked up on a used bike that can probably use new rains. Kinda reminds me of a PK80 but I'm not sure. Being able to measure the piston would allow me to find a replacement also. Thanks again for your advice. I will wait for your reply before I the engine apart.

So both GT5's have the same piston? Good info. What about my other unknown engine. I dont know the anatomy of a piston. What on the piston would I measure to find a match?
