How to get more air through my air filter

Hi there im trying to get more air into my 4 stroke 49cc engine, im looking at the air filter on my engine is there any way I can get more air to go into it, and also if theres any other mods I can do to it to get more peformace out of my engine that dosn't increase the noise can you please tell me.

i beg to differ i think they look realy cool jk drilling holes is a good place to start though i would visit afordable go karts they have all the info you are looking for includeing any parts you may want i plan on getting their air filter one day to .

karma,,,don't forget the little breather filter as well,,,,the added cost of that was why I went with the SickBike filter ;)


btw,,,I did try AGK's idea of drilling the stock plastic housing,,,it helped enough for me to decide to get an upgrade :)
