My bike was bogging down and stalling all the time, I kept screwing with the carb adjustments thinking that was the problem. I noticed in my clear fuel line a bunch of silt in the gas. I've added an inline fuel filter and now it's running like a top! Often the easiest solution is the one you're looking for! I was about to buy my 3rd carberatur and all I needed to do was clean my fuel! The notion about the screen filter on your petcock being insufficent is absolutely true, buy one of those cheap paper inline filters and you'll notice an immediate difference in performance! Yesterday I hit 35mph and was previously unable to do that.

Many postings here over the years communicating the need for an inline fuel filter and the need to remove the petcock filter which can clog easily and strand you.

Lots of tips here for new builds.....best way to learn is from other's experiences and mistakes instead of making your own.
